The definition of PCI means peripheral component interconnect.  PCI interface can be used for a whole variety of different components.  Most are usually modems, sound cards and ethernet cards.

PCI slots has one simple goal.  It allows the user to add custom pieces to work with your computer.  Without expansion slots you will need to order the motherboard very client that wouldn’t be very efficient.  Instead, click Add components that you want to customize your computer.

There are 2 type of PCI, PCI and PCI-e or PCI Express.  In the purchase of the card, keep 2 are not interchangeable.

Adding a PCI card in your computer is a much simpler process than most people think. All you have to do is turn off the computer, remove the power cable, then after you open the lid of your computer, slide the card into a slot and lead to abnormal with one screw.  After restarting your system, you may need to install a driver, usually included with your card, then the card is ready and available for use.
