AMD bulldozer processors, rumored to suffer minor input delay. Will Intel push up Sandy Bridge extreme starting date in the response?

All signs are pointing to AMD announcing its new high performance desktop processors, code-named knives and supply of eight cores, this week at Computex, or at the latest by next week at E3. However, Anandtech is reporting that the company has encountered production delays, which can push start back at the end of July.

In particular, the place of tech, says the difficulty include “performance problems with [AMD of] B0 and B1 stepping chips.” AMD is waiting to get a better job of B2 chips before the release of the new CPUs. The chip company told Bright side of news that its public road map has not changed, but the site also says that the motherboard companies are chattering about knives delays.

To make matters worse, a hint of delay in what had to be a change of game chips for AMD may give reason to push the Intel release of its upcoming Sandy Bridge extreme processors. In Computex Hexus.net has already demonstrated a prototype motherboard Asus, using the new Intel X 79 chipset, which will maintain the extreme processors Sandy Bridge. If knives launch slips to August, it may not be plot for Intel to nudge the SB final from the expected date in September for the release of the fourth quarter.

Depending on whether the Intel planned to be aggressive in pricing its extreme chips — that it has not been on a date-eight core bulldozers may still be significantly cheaper, but any more than-stellar performance can offset the price advantage. We will keep when AMD formally introduces new processors – whether it is sooner or later.
