iPad is the ideal platform for Board Games. Is large enough to more than one person to sit round it for local game without feeling stupid, and its touchscreen is large enough to become practical to move the pieces, even if you have a chubby fingers. In this way, this is only a matter of time before classic board games like Carcassonne jumped on the platform.

The game is easy to learn and is based mainly around the idea of developing the areas around the titular French city. At higher levels, however, the strategies and tactics involved can become quite complex, however, that this version of the iPad makes in the spoken lessons and complete digital manual. It takes very little time to get to the handles with the mechanics, with only a few references, and back to the documentation and interaction supported gloriously pristine.

There are several different basic game-types, including “Solitaire”, which follows a slightly adapted rules to the main game, plus online, local and AI matches.

The developers made an excellent work in rendering of tiles and tracks, managing to keep the feel of the game, while still making the most of digital format. None of the graphics feel of the place and everything perfectly, emulated physical version with decent tactile quality of the ability to drag the pieces around the Board.

As a game, Carcassonne is excellent to play with several friends, sat around the iPad. It will be completely of matter may be used instead of determining the full field copy of the game, since it is so easy to view the iPad round. Of course this version never fully replicate natural version, but is sufficiently rigid to meet at least the equivalent to it.

Online games are a little more troublesome affair, however. AP obviously match-made according to skill, but it is difficult to tell whether this happens because most of the games ended with the assailant, mysteriously disappears in the second it looked like the game may be there is no path.

We found ourselves primarily played against AI opponents, with the game, which are divided into easy, powerful, strange, evil and simple behaviour types. Although it is not always clear how strong AI improves over easy AI, the evil AI can teach several Nasty tricks if you are paying attention. Often you’ll find yourself swearing and quiet swearing in.

Verdict
This is a beautifully made portable version of the very well made game. Even if you have not played the original, this is a brilliant introduction, which is much cheaper than if you purchase the full version of the field. It is recommended!
