Price-GB is still too high for most people to use solid state drive as storage for PC companies are trying to figure out new ways of combining the productivity advantages of SSDs with massive storage of today’s hard disks. Gigabyte just showed off a new motherboard, which has a 20 GB SSD, embedded directly in it, and now shows the OCZ SSD and hard disk
combination that fits in the PCI Express x 4 card.


Dubbed OCZ RevoDrive hybrid unit benefit from the superior performance of PCI Express, with SSD component can serve as a cache on your hard disk. OCZ has not yet decided if it will ship a combined device with 5,400 rpm or 7,200 rpm hard drive, but it says TechReport, that most likely has a 500 GB or 1TB HDDs and 60 GB or 120 GB SSDs.


OCZ will not use the new smart response of Intel caching technology, claiming that the integration of Nvelo Dataplex software gives better operating income from PCMark Vantage. In any case RevoDrive hybrid will function, 575Mbps, blazing read speeds and 500Mbps writes speeds.


Expect RevoDrive hybrid to reach the market in July with the basic configuration of 60 GB SSD and 500 GB hard disk for about $ 350.
