@muhendisane Full load overclocked to 3.4 GHz results in 50-55 C. Chilly compared to stock cooler. This case is small and there is no where else to route cables. The one sticking out is a fan on the door, pulls out when door is removed.

  2. muhendisane says:

you must do cable management…for better air circulation.

    @sda3
sorry lol i was stoned when i posted that.
i was referring to the zalman 9900a led cpu cooler

  4. sda3 says:

    what do you mean?

  5. D081 says:

i see different opinions about which way to face this up or outwards… im starting to think its just preference.

whats your 3dmark 06/vantage scores with this?

  7. sda3 says:

I haven’t noticed it over the fans, and they are not real loud.

  8. Peetah16 says:

is that Western Digital Caviar Black of yours loud?

  9. sda3 says:

Yes, it is codenamed Bloomfield, the architecture is Nehalem.

  10. westman91 says:

    Isn´t the i7 920 codenamed "Bloomfield"?

  11. sda3 says:

I have it set at 172 Mhz and the multiplier is locked so it is at 20, 21 with turbo mode on for 3.612 GHz

  12. RabelistaStudioscom says:

    whats your baseclock and multiplier

  13. EBA170 says:

ya do that if u havnt already. i want to to and have a q9550 and i rly want an i7 but imma wait till it goes down or something better cmes out

  14. sda3 says:

how so? Can you send me a link to an article? Its been running strong for 4 months now with no issues and has plenty of power reserves.

  15. ArnoldHC says:

i heard that power supply can ruin the CPU, Motherboard

  16. raruenify says:

You should be able to push it to 4.2GHz

  17. sda3 says:

set at 3.6 Ghz the absolute highest I have seen the temps go at full load is 65c. At idle it is in the low 40s. I have seen people overclock to 4ghz but the temps are too high on air so I won’t be testing that.

  18. rodaz440 says:

hey wat temps do u get on load and idle and can u overclock to 4Ghz and tell me the temps plz

  19. sda3 says:

The easiest way is to just change the reference clock speed from 133MHz to whatever you can get it to be stable at. You can get a lot out of it that way. You can also change voltages and things to get more, but just start with that clock speed first.

  20. Falseproph3t says:

I have the same cpu and mobo. How do i do a standard overclock like yours?

  21. ChristerX360 says:

Nice, I have core 2 quad 9550 and I want build another new build i7 but I think I should wait for another few years.

  22. sda3 says:

Cool, thx. Good stuff. I have it overclocked to 3.6 Ghz now, the cinebench is over 20k now. Ill post that at some point. I also put the RC of windows 7 on it. I think that build is slower than 7077 was.
