VCore is the same as CPU voltage? Why was your CPUv so low initially? It looked to be around .85V? I am just trying to learn how to OC my i7950 on an eVGA E770. In the BIOS the default VCore is 1.3V. I am using a ‘Dummy OC’ profile @3.2GHZ, and my temps are a bit high. 67-69 under load. Is it o.k. to lower the VCore without touching any other voltages or settings? I would like to move down to 1.25 V to see if it helps with temps. I am using a Prolimatech super Mega cooler with 1000 rpm fans.

Yeah this video is gay… I mean come on dude. You don’t even have your specs. How the HELL do you expect this to e helpful to anyone when you don’t list your specs or even the processor you are using. what a waste of 10 minutes.

terrible guide for anyone who needs help. absolutely rubbish. why not explain quantum physics to us as well, with quick flashes of the book you’re reading from and no explanation to the jargon you’re using.

isn’t there ANYBODY who has a clean, clear, step-by-step easy to follow guide on how to overclock a core i7?

  4. ixy1987 says:

you explain what to do…..BUT WHY ????? :-(

  5. ixy1987 says:

this is a walkthrough of what you did……but i still dont know WHY ??? you changed each setting…i can copy your exact moves…but you never explained why you changed certain setting…next time you make a "OVERCLOCKING GUIDE FOR DUMMIES" dont forget to explain what changing each setting is relevent to overclocking !!!! :-(

  6. Figouras94 says:

Yes but you dont explain what is each one you tell us directly what to do even we have a different system from you.

When i put the clock ratio at 25 it automatically changes to 22 and when i then apply all those settings you say, i need to use default bios settings or else the system wont boot. It came with an message like overclocking failed. I just cant figure it out how i do this!! :( :(

@Cougar133 yea C0 isnt the best overclocking i7. if you want to get to the 4.5ghz range youll need to get a DO stepping i7.

  12. kalum777 says:

could you please make a more extreme guide to overclocking the i7? like a guide on how to really push these chips to the edge??

  13. Vorox144 says:

    Lookes like Liquid cooling

    @FSXHD92
only you can answer that, it really depends on your system, and how it works with your CPU, no CPUs are the same, so if yours is stable at 4,5, his might not be stable at 4,5

  15. bookworm840 says:

with the cooler that came with my system how high can I overclock it?

  16. FurballRZ says:

i hate that i have to relearn the names noow i have an asus, wy gygabite and asus dont use te name idk

  17. FSXHD92 says:

but will this run stable i can easly hit 4,5 GHZ but will it be stable

  18. gippula says:

    whats your cooling?

  19. ScrewFearMe says:

@itchyfingers89 well he did say peltier cooler so i looked into it and yeah it seems like a peltier cooler….im guessing he home made it . i wish i could do the same tho

  20. itchyfingers89 says:

@ScrewFearMe It might be a Pelletier type of cooler. Some of them uses 400W of power just to run.

  21. ScrewFearMe says:

@itchyfingers89 im wondering that too…crazily nice temps man

  22. itchyfingers89 says:

    What cooler is that??
