The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
4.22ghz. Overclock your i7 using similar settings. Depending on your cpu, The voltage may either be decreased or increased. I use prime 95 and several runs of vantage for stability.

    @hellowsaw
    dont listen to this guy he knows nothing .
    never copy someone settings
    but learn to do it in the right steps.

    linustechtips got good tutorials on you tube.

    go to a real tutorial video.
    and yes you are right 1.25 v is the max if you want your cpu to life long.
    higher would not be smart.

  2. asus3571 says:

    great vid but yo should never be telling people to put 1.4 volts on any cpu’s vcore especially i7 that is way way way to high

  3. brainstormnl says:

    getting seasick from your video

  4. hellowsaw says:

    @mfastx lol u better dun try it.

  5. hellowsaw says:

    @TheBodar er… is it rather safe that u set your qpi pll core voltage to 1.4v because i heard some others said, it better to set 1.25v at max for precaution.

    1.46785 is high voltage, maybe unusable for anyone with on air,im clocked at 4.2ghz with a cpu voltage of 1.23v,you can enable all c states in advanced cpu features except c1e without it affecting stability, use dvid to add extra voltage at load it much better than running a constant 1.46785v,my chip idles at 39-36c across the cores @idle and 79-76c @load using a gigabyte ud5 mb and 920 chip

  7. adam0123455 says:

    is the cpu host frequency basically the FSB

    sorry for asking but it’s kind of all mixed up in my brain. What’s the process of overclocking? i mean step1, step 2, step 3, etc… i know it’s a loop where you have to test and test and test, but where does the loop begin and where does it end? and when do you go out of the loop to tweak memory etc…thanks in advance.

    I have a question for anybody that can help. I just built my i7 (2.6GHz quad core Bloomfield stock) machine and its running 35-45c idle/torrenting, 50-70c max in game, and 75c stress testing it. I look online and ev1 is saying thats too hot but I see soooo many people with those temps asking if its too hot and mixed opinions without people showing facts. Is that too hot?? Most opinions I get are people bragging about how cool their liquid gets saying that we are too hot yet most i7s get this hot

  10. TheJordantre says:

    have you got watercooling ?

  11. Sunblade12 says:

    i still don’t know what any of that means…. I mean i get the voltage but that’s it, people need to explain what each thing is and go through the whole thing!

  12. MysticPanic says:

    @bookworm840 If you don’t know how to access BIOS setup, you probably shouldn’t overclock either :)

  13. bookworm840 says:

    what people don’t tell me is HOW you get to that screen

  14. mfastx says:

    how fast do you think my i7 920 can overclock on the standard cooling/ 500w power source?

  15. thejspace302 says:

    @TheBodar Owned!

  16. Neurotripsicks says:

    I plan on getting an i7 920 and want to take it to 4.0 from 2.66. I’ve never done it before but I know I’m getting a TRUE cooler for it, not so sure I trust the stock cooler.

  17. MyLemons says:

    nice video!!
    i have an i7 920 OC to 3.4ghz and a gtx 260 OC to 760-1600-1200 (core, shader, mem clock)
    3dmark vantange score : P14155
    gpu : 11408
    cpu : 50981

  19. ImperialArmour says:

    @GeeakFreeak well that’s what intel said and what the sticker on my asus mobo said, AND the grey text warning that appeared in my bios said lol. i’m on a 920 maybe the 930 has a higher stock voltage but I doubt it should be very different cuz they are both bloomfield models, unlike the extreme edition.

  20. GeeakFreeak says:

    @ImperialArmour It’s 1.25 recommended? My 930 came at 1.36 stock, lols.

  21. xxbox6191 says:

    what type of cpu GHz do you have before you overclocked that? im getting Intel Core i7 2.4 GHz would that goto 3.8 GHz or more? my heat sink is Thermaltake black widow Spin Q universal cpu cooler 4 in 1

  22. ImperialArmour says:

    wow your Vcore voltage is really way over the recommended 1.25 by intel.

    I managed a stable clock of 4.2 ghz with a similar voltage, but man your CPU score was about twice of what I got in 3D Mark Vantage.

    any issues yet?

  23. Eagle0watch says:

    Hello guys, I just made a video of me overclocking my I7(920) using 2 freezers.I’ve never see anybody try this before so i just thought i would. Please check it out. Its called"Overclocking I-7(920) using two Freezers" Please leave a nice comment if you don’t mind and rate it. Thanks fellas.

  24. maarten12100 says:

    set cpu clock ratio to 20-25 and ensure that clockratio X Host frecuncy equals 3.2 then set your ram to the closes speed as possible.
    Im still using north and southbridge much easier if u ask me but I can learn how to use it :P

  25. labzac13 says:

    I dare some one to change the voltage to 15v lol
