Many of you are asking me if you need to download and install the new Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) beta that Microsoft has provided.

My take on it is this-unless the need for testing the comparability, do not bother.

Essentially the SP1 for Windows 7 is the accumulation of all updates and patches, which have already been released. If you are with your Windows is maintaining updates, then you already have everything you need.

It is worth pointing that SP1 does not add anything new to the OS, so that you’re not missing anything out. In fact, save yourself 50-450 MB download!

My advice, wait until the first quarter of 2011 for the final Edition and install it, then.
