The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
Took CPU up a bit and added voltage and clocking to the video cards. Note that it doesnt look this bad in real life, the camera has a hard time filming a screen and makes it look like that. The goal was to keep GPU under 95 and CPU under 80 on air cooling, which wasnt a problem at all. By request, here are newegg part numbers for the build: PSU = N82E16817190021 GPU = 2x N82E16814121373 CPU = N82E16819115225 Memory = 2x N82E16820145224 Fan = N82E16835118046 Mainboard = N82E16813131642 Case = N82E16811235006 HD = 2x N82E16820233087 Speakers = N82E16836121120 Monitor = Dell UltraSharp something @ 1920×1200 native

what was the settings on the benchmark? High or Low?
@IROLYI I have a couple of these with big NVIDIA cards and multiple hard drives inside….N82E16811129063
Good cooling, easy access to parts, and mostly tool-less. only downside is the wires for front cooling fans get snagged if you’re not careful while inserting the drive bays.
damn they sold out on towers which is another good replacement?
Very nice I plan to get a 480 in November instead of a 460 for FF14 this is just such an awsome mmo!
@GamerBiz Check description, added some part numbers for newegg lookups
@GamerBiz Updated video description with some part numbers for newegg.com lookups
@matrixfs no intel cpu are most oc friendly. amd not so much
@drakegroth it’s really hard to know what to expect because the bencher is testing more than just GPU, although the GPU is the most used item. As long as you have a decent RAM kit, no 5400 RPM drives and a solid chipset on the mobo, I don’t see why your score would be very different. I don’t know too much about AMD OC, but I’m guessing they can probably go faster than Intel right?
Your machine is a beast. I need to do some serious upgrading and learn how to overclock. I run an AMD Phenom II X4 @ 2.8 GHz. If I overclock and upgrade to GTX 480 graphics card would I get similar results?
Is the benchmark recognizing your SLI though? If not I’m sure your score would go up more
@matrixfs Yeah everything gogo.
@GamerBiz You looking for a parts list, the full OC settings mem/cpu/gpu, or both?
god damn… just owned a lot of people with that setup lol
