I like WordPress, and I hate hackers, so I updated WordPress.

To do this easier there is a mechanism for automatic update, baked right into the application, making a tedious process in one click job. But for some time now I have not been able to use this feature, because it is disconnected. Every time you tried to use it I’ve been faced with the following error message:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Gaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

You can manually upgrade the WordPress, but I had quite a lot (or more precisely, @ vexentrix many would rather!:)) one click method to difference of the uploading of files manually.

Googling, this phrase indicates that there is a lot of WordPress users there suffer from this problem and the estimates of how many aborted threads, there are over on the WordPress Support Forum, some people never seem to find a solution.

I’m a lot of digging this problem and to establish that there are many different solutions there, some simple, some not so simple. Here are some I’ve tried and which does not work:

They seem to work for some people, but in this case, they do not.

Finally I came across a possible correction of the Mummila.net. This hotfix includes the firing of phpMyAdmin (you do not know what is this?, see this link!), and the replacement of the wp_user_roles entry in wp_options table ( wp the prefix might be different in your database) with the code below:

Save and retry the upgrade … It works for me!
