The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
This is my previous build transferred to the bigger and better featured, HAF X by Cooler Master! Another addition is the CPU watercooling with a Enzotech Stealtch CPU Waterblock, XSPC 5.25" Bay Reservoir, 12 ID tubing 34" OD UV Green Tubing Filled with PrimoChill PC Pure UV Green and a variable 720Lhr – 1200 Lhr Pump. Hope you all enjoy and please leave suggestions for any benchmarks or games you would be interested in seeing!

@Pepponzy Haha, thank you! It’s actually been upgraded believe it or not, they GPU’s are watercooled and there is a dedicated GTX 460 for PhysX! I’ll get some new vids out soon! Thank you for viewing! Please subscribe and stay tuned! Thanks!
@AcrosGliceas yeah a good 1200 watt is plenty. I recommend the Enermax 1250, a good price and a fantastic powersupply ready for future PCI-Express power protocol and 10 6+2 connectors and a large volume of 4-pin molex and sata power and is modular. PM me if you have any other questions!
what wattage is the PSU needed for the triple sli?
is 1200 enough?
@skaterboy379 lol, nice except not true anymore, the 470′s are now watercooled and the system throws off much less heat more gradually. I will have some vids up soon of the new loop for the GPU’s and I also added a GTX 460 for dedicated PhysX!
Stay tuned!
@llvll3chan0id he wouldn’t need a fireplace this winter LOL XD.
@William93ITA Well, with the thick 35mm (thick) 120mm Ultra Kaze’s, it sort of blocks the top bay. However, i’ve built many systems in this case with watercooling and with standard 120mm thickness fans (25mm thick not 25mm) it seems to be just fine, you also might consider a double-thick, dual 120mm radiator if you were really concerned for that first bay but seems to be fine with normal 120mm fans. PM me if you have any other questions! Thanks for viewing and Stay tuned GPU’s watercoolednow!
If you install a 360 mm radiator on the top, can the first 5,25 bay be used or not?
@llvll3chan0id haha well it would be especially hot with the servers! But yeah the room has it’s own air conditioner and they are now watercooled. Been pretty busy but am trying to get the vids out of the new water cooling loops! Stay tuned! Thank you for viewing!
lol i imagine how hot your room will be w/o watercooling on those gtx470! i have sli gtx470 and my room gets really hot due to the heat being exhaust out from the gfx, so i had to buy ek waterblock as well for my gfx.
@lst2freak yes, the fans for the triple 120mm rad on top that cools the CPU puls air from inside the case to the outside. Now, there is one utilizing a Koolance Radmount for a second triple 120mm Rad for the 3 GTX 470′s. I’ll be uploading a video of the Water Cooled 470′s soon! Stay Tuned!
@lst2freak it is now the i7 930 so .1V higher which is 1.26V
@aalegnani also is ur fan on rad blowing fromcase to exhaust??
@aalegnani could u tell me wat ur vcore and vtt voltage is??
@IsoNurFace Thanks! Yeah they’re actually already watercooled, all the 470′s! But, as i’ve been busy running my business I haven’t had too much time to record a video for youtube but will definitely get one up soon but will be using Bitspower Crystal link’s for sli in stead of the current ‘loop tubing’ between the cards. Stay tuned! I’ll let you know when I make the new video!
Very Nice, I really like the green water tubing. I am thinking about switching my tubing out for some like yours. I really dig the flex UV lights, I am going to have to get me some of those for sure!! Did you say you were going to wc those gpu’s? I will check back later to see what else you change, nice video 5/5 *’s
@Awayze No you cant still use the top 200mm fan. It will interfere with the radiator being mounted in the top. which won’t matter because you will have higher airflow with more smaller fans.
the cpu will run about as cool witha 240 as with a 360 except when overclocking the thermal conductivity of a 360mm rad is higher which is why I used it. If you have any other questions, PM me via your inbox. Thank you
So you can still use two 200mm fans on top and mount a 360mm rad on the rail thing and it won’t interfere with the Blu Ray drive in the top 5.25" bay?
So the top fans will suck hot air out from the radiator? Also how much cooler does your CPU run by using a 360mm rad than a 240mm Thanks.
@GenericName007 Yes I did this to acquire more space and the CFM of the 200mm fans was not as great as the fans I am using and usually can hinder the airflow paths that the 120mm’s will output. Still, you can do it however you would like but I preferred the 360mm rad being hidden under the top panel. I actually also have the GPU’s watercooled with a 360mm mounted with a Koolance radmount on the back which i will upload a video of soon. Hope you tune in! Let me know if you have any questions!
@hollyxmash Overclocking is basically increasing the clock cycle of the processor which determines its speed in accordance to say 2GigaHertz per ‘Clock Cycle’ (cocck cycle being 1 nano second or 1 billionth of a second) would be 2 billion calculations per clock cycle or 2 gigaflops. So, when you increase your clock cycle on a CPU to say 4.2 GHz its basically over doubling the speed and generally the thermal (heat) output due to the need in increased voltage. Hope it helps! PM me if u need more!
Can you not use the 200mm fans if you’re mounting a rad at the top? I thought with this case you screwed the rad on the inside underneath where the 200mm top fans are. In yours it looks like you have the rad mounted on top, as in you opened the top of the case and put it there? Can you mount it both ways? I’d want to keep the 200mm fans but still put a triple rad at the top but mounted underneath the 200mm if that’s possible?
what does overclocking mean?
@EricThaKeng I would definitely say HAF X, more features, bigger, fits more form factors, better airflow. I’ve used many of both and others alike and I still highly recommend the HAF X hands down!
Can’t decide between HAF X and CM Storm Sniper for 2x 460 until 2x 485
@vioLence777 Yes, i’ve built and had many mid, and full tower cases and this XL-ATX case it ridiculously amazing! Cable routing/management on the right panel is so vast that you really don’t need to try hard at all to route the cables. Everything just fits. Not to metion the ability to mount up to a triple 120mm radiator inside the top panel! So many amazing features! I highly recommend this case! Let me know if you have any other quesitons!
