The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
A requested video. Showing what BIOS settings Id use for 3,2GHz overclock on Intel Core i7 920 C0 stepping. Note that if you have a D0 stepping set CPU voltage as 1.1V instead of 1.2V.

@ImmortalUniverse – Memory is the most unimportant thing, only spend money on high-end memory if you’re extreme overclocker or you have all the best stuff… if you don’t, it’s wiser to spend on something more important instead.
To not bottleneck the best graphics setups nowadays at 1080p you need a 6-core i7 @ at least 4.2GHz… bottleneck depends on the resolution also – with triple 1080p monitors Core i5 @ 4GHz can be fine for 3x GTX 480′s.
Better invest in a GPU you mean , the cpu usually is not the bottle neck.
you can play the latest games on very high with an i3 core aswell.
i did so myself on the last pc ive build.
but again ,aslong as you have good mem cards for stable overclock.
@ImmortalUniverse – Sure they do, but not worth it. Better to get a faster CPU… if the CPU already is the fastest possible and you still have money to spare you can get so expensive RAMs, but still, they won’t make more than 5% difference in CPU benchmarks.
im convinced 2000 mhz Rams ,works better then 1333 mhz .
especially when you overclock.
i
@arvutihull
.
Tell that to the PC .
@ImmortalUniverse – Apparently you don’t know much about RAMs…
RAM clock frequency doesn’t make much difference, it’s the last thing to invest into. Max 5% difference between 2000MHz memory and 1333MHz memory. Also, performance depends on timings more than on the frequency when talking about memory.
@drocks22 – write ”3,66ghz bios settings” into the search, it’s the first thing you’ll find.
where is your 3.66 OC tutorial? cant find it…
@86arunkumar – A place where you can change the boot device has to be there, check again I guess…
Hi .. In my bios setting ,there is no boot option available. i need to reinstall my windows-xp from cd-rom,but i’m not know how to bootup.Pls help me.
@oisan1001 – You probably don’t have the same motherboard. Difference motherboards have different BIOSes.
@arvutihull
But i do not get the same options as this video has in the bios, that is my problem
@oisan1001 – With my BIOS I need to press Del during boot to enter.
How do you enter that BIOS?
I can only enter the standard one, and there is no way to shift any CPU settings
@bendikn – No, the same settings should work.
i have the 930, will there be any difference?
@arvutihull so i dont have to try out from lower settings?
@bendikn – No magic, but yes.
I can just enter his values and it will magically be at 3.2 GHz?
@ZarafanKO – Yes you can do that, stock cooler is able to handle 3.0GHz.
@RUDY2295 – Disabling speedstep isn’t necessary.
