How much force does it take to break a Hard Drive?

Check out this *secret* site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance… Plus tons more!

The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
I was told that it takes 9G of force to break a hard drive, that maybe, but in real world situation, u can break ur hard drive with ur finger tips by simply doing a drop, thats was it. this video is a experiment to see if a hard drive is tough as it should be or its as fragile as I expect it to be.

    This is actually repairable, but would involve opening the HDD.

    @tricccple dang.

  4. tricccple says:

    @BarackMcBush yeah, me and few others now determine that it takes that much force to break ti apart, but really don’t take that much to break the drive. (functionality wise)

  5. BarackMcBush says:

    Not Much , I had a new 640gb Sata drive , My case fell 6" when I was working on it , It screwed up the drive! I doubt that was anywhere close to 9G’s

    @jaesungauzakim yuppers

  7. Novix6 says:

    Lmao at the part when yu jst smack it !

  8. jaesungauzakim says:

    permanent damage?

  9. tricccple says:

    @CJCA915 yup, from the sound of it, that is what happened.

  10. tricccple says:

    @CJCA915 yeah, well this experiment is not fully scientific anyways, since i do have only 1 drive to test on lolz.

    AHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!AHAHAH

  12. CJCA915 says:

    The only problem it sounds like is the reader head was thrown off the platters… something is trying to move…

  13. M3RVITIS says:

    0_0, that was easier said than done, i thought it would take more abuse than that :/

    Thank goodness i have a SSD :D

    Thanks for doing this video, the maxtor drives life will not be forgotten and has greatly contributed to science.

    @tricccple
    Maxtor hard drives never had a soul lol! Only WD drives has them. :P

  16. tricccple says:

    @frankieboie oh boy, hardwares got souls too now?

  17. frankieboie says:

    @tricccple
    Still, REPORTED for hardware ABUSE!!!!!

  18. tricccple says:

    @CelebrityGamer mainly for the folks that don’t believe how fragile hard drives really are. little sacrifice for video recorded proof of that.

  19. tricccple says:

    @frankieboie I got more spare hard drives for these purposes.

  20. tricccple says:

    @frankieboie generic IDE/SATA to USB adapter

  21. jussipejulliano says:

    Thanks for the experiment !

    I will take care in future xD

  22. frankieboie says:

    @CelebrityGamer
    Ya, even if it’s old still worth using on a older rig.

  23. CelebrityGamer says:

    I think a better question, why would you break a hard drive lol
