@HousedanceTanL not gonna lie, half of that was french to me for all i care, the real hard core pc overclocking stuff im not familiar with. I left everything on auto cuz it works, so why change it, this is how i got my i7 to 4.0ghz, didnt need to do anything fancy, and if you say its not good to OC it this way, well, if anything brakes il just buy another, when you make your video post it as a reply to this one, this way people can see how to OC properly

Need to make a video also, have the same cpu and mobo. Its really not good to run more than 100MHz PCI-E for 247.
This was actually so useless video :P you left all the voltages to auto and did not explain them. Do u use D0 stepping 920? To get the most out of your cpu up the IOH core voltage to 1.28-1.4, VTT to 1.35 for 247 and max 1.60 if u are overclocking to find the very maximum, dont forget to cool it. Also cpu can do 1.25 to 1.35v 4GHz and beyond, some use lower volts some higher.

I have a 920c with 1600MHz ram. The only change I made was manually setting the bus to 200. I was able to get 4GHz.

That however seems a little too easy to overclock. Why do they give us all those other settings? What else could you do with your CPU? How do I get a full overclock at a 1:1 ratio?

    nice video.
i have a question. does your computer say some kind of static buzzing noise when you pc is benchmarking or heavy prossesing.
my does. i have this motherbord and cpu and case.
if you havent notest anything, then can you do me a huge favor.
download core Damage. it is an stress test software. my pc screems with static noise when i use THAT software. does your pc do that.
i promes it will only take 50 seconds. you only need to run software for 7 seconds. i will be happy. thanks

    Bad OC

  7. asus3571 says:

i absolutely cant stand about asus mobo’s is the bios it is horrid unless you really know what your doing gigabyte has the most fantastic bios ever of coarse i know gigabytes bios very well ive only had the plesure of useing the bios of 2 dif asus boards a p5n-esli and p6x58-d prem and i couldnt stand either nor could i get a decent oc on either ive takein every gigabyte x58 to 4ghz on all auto settings except mem multi with gigabyte has the best multis ever + bad oc they auto recover

  8. Cythreill says:

You can just type in the number to adjust your clocks. (BCLK = Base Clock I think)

Also in the upper right hand corner of your screen it will tell you that your minimum-maximum for BCLK is ’100-500 Mhz’

  9. HGTtec says:

what button do i have to press to get into the BIOS xD ? my boot up is going so fast xD

  10. E5Ridez says:

@wwwlatinunitcom i7 produces a HELL of a lot more heat then a duel core, thanks for coming out, and its byeosh if thats what i want to call it

  11. wwwlatinunitcom says:

    and its BIOS not Biased

  12. wwwlatinunitcom says:

CPU half its lifespan? ive overclocked my e6400 core2duo from 2.13 to 3.2 had it runing almost 24/7 for 4 years playing games, video, multitasking, etc and is pretty much alive and kicking still.

  13. GenericName007 says:

Well I’m no overclock guru but if your cpu is dieing after only a year, I’m not sure you can consider this a good method to follow. I don’t care if I could get mine to 5ghz, if they told me beforehand I’d need a new cpu after a year, I wouldn’t do it. Also, if it’s only stable for 5 hours at a time, that’s not exactly a stable OC.

  14. theomega831 says:

hey I got the rampage 3 gene, your video is really helpful, thx man

  15. razul4111 says:

zomg you used the f word!

nice video xD helped me a lot.

  16. naits95 says:

will the i7 930 run fine with stock cooler OC’d to 3.2 ghz? Default clock will be 2.8 ghz.

  17. Sh0ski says:

looool waiting for it to die…..hahaha what kids with money to spend say these days rofl….. just buy that 980x… it wont die unless u increase the voltages at unreasonable numbers….but cool build :D

    Have fun,
    Sweet cheeks

  18. izlude2 says:

@izlude2 just tried it right now. i’m at 4.0 ghz and the ram did go to it’s spec’d 1600 thanks :) oh but umm…. what’s with the 2:8 ratio? shouldn’t it be 1:1? is this a bad ratio?

  19. izlude2 says:

so all your volts are just set to auto? really? anyway i got a question.

i have some sticks that are called tracers and the box has them spec’d at 1600Mhz rated 1.65 volts. what should i do about them? my cpu is 920 c stepping.

  20. Jvdx says:

nice vid thanks, getting my friend a similar rig to build (with 2 5970), so this will be usefull.
    added to fav’s.

  21. SiaSound says:

When do you think you’ll get your hands on a 980x and some real cooling. Looking forward to it. By the way I ordered that asus rampage3 motherboard because of your review. I’m really in awe of it right now.

  22. TheXtremeGamer90 says:

Amazing motherboard for overclockers! Am gonna use this for my 2011 gaming rig!

  23. GingerGAMER7 says:

    This board is orgasmic <3

And how come you dont Prime95 when overclocking?

  24. VincentX202 says:

@E5Ridez of course its stable 5hr a day lol the way you oc’d in this vid: play with multiplier until it boots and have auto bump the volts for you, but thats besides the point, i mean if those settings work for ya, than good, it’s doing its job, my previous comment was aimed at your inability oc your cpu higher >4.0ghz cause u said some funny reasons that it couldn’t handle it or that the cpu was at it’s end lifetime that is all

and good motherboard btw, i love it
