How to Overclock Sandy Bridge 5GHz i5 2500K / i7 2600K P67/Z68

Check out this *secret* site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance… Plus tons more!

The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
A lot of people wanted to see 5GHz on the i5 2500K, so I spent the weekend playing with settings and I think Ive finally found a stable overclock. Does 15 minutes of Prime 95 and maxes out at under 80c with the Phanteks PH-TC14PE cooler on a testbench (not in a case, case temps will be ~5-10c higher). Motherboard is the Asrock Z68 Fatal1ty Professional Gen 3. This should work with the i7 2600K as well. You can probably run much lower voltages on the i7 2700K. @USBpowerify Umm… not sure but probably not. I don’t recommend upgrading laptops. They’re not meant to be upgraded.

    @ByLyel No problem dude. If it works, it’ll be all worth it!

    @custompcreview yea it happens sometimes I’ve been lucky so far for two processors got two that were decent overclockers.

  6. custompcreview says:

    @USBpowerify It’s the Asrock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen 3 motherboard.

    @USBpowerify You need a desktop. Your laptop bios is probably perma-neutered by Toshiba.

    @XxViciousxX Yeah my chip must suck pretty bad. I’ll tweak it a bit more when I get the chance, but I get the blinking cursor when I try to lower the voltage or up the multi to 51. I’ll try a couple more adjustments, but I think this chip just sucks.

    Wow ours needs a lot more volts for 5ghz then mine i thought 1.485 for mine was bad i can see why you don’t like running it like that. I keep mine at 4.8ghz 1.420 volts its water cooled never really goes over 55c and its lasted for 5 months at that voltage long as it lasts till ivy bridge ill be happy.

    @Matr1xninJa Yeah I’ll see, but with your request, you’ll probably need ~$600. Check out the $600 gaming pc video I released a couple days ago.
