How to stress-test your Cpu

Stress tests, also called torture testing is very important for overclocking. Without the stress of your CPU USAGE cannot be sure that your processor is completely stable at overclocked speeds. Stress testing software applications provide the highest and unrealistic work load of the hardware components that if overclocked component is stable during stress tests, it may take a different type of cargo.

So how to stress test your CPU?

What you need

OCCT

OCCT is an excellent application to stress test your CPU, GPU and power supply. Download and extract it somewhere (like Desktop). After overclocking, following to stress test your CPU;

Open the “type” of LinpackOn for Processor of OCCT. exeSelect selection CustomEnter the desired time. I usually enter only 10 minutes, when I first overclock the processor to find the Max overclock to save time. After you find the Max OC, I stress test a processor for 2 hours in “test mode” select Max (90% free mem)

Once the test is over, OCCT will report whether there was any error during the tests and generate a very useful graphics. The graphics report CPU usage, CPU temperature, remote lines and Cpu VCore, etc.

If you see an error, you can have up CPU v-core channel. If you have done that already and still receive the error, or you need to adjust the settings of the memory or have already reached the wall of the OC.

I’m planning to update the post with the graphics and to demonstrate how to analyze it in the future.

Note:

Before overclocking and stress tests to make sure that you have a good power supply (Psu). Use of the cheap ones only will lead to burning system components. If you don’t have one, never try to overclocking and stress tests. Also I have seen people overclock their processors and stress test without knowing what Psu, they have. If you do not know which of them you have, open the Cabinet and check for themselves. Never trust these Chinese PSUs, since they are not even able to provide 50% of the total power, they are valued.
