Stress tests or torture, testing your overclocked GPU is extremely important to ensure that runs stable all the time. If you just started overclocking by increasing the clocks of these steps, test for 10 minutes is sufficient, so that you can try your pushing more graphics card. If you have already reached the wall, do the test for 2 hours. In continuation to my previous blog post of GPU Overclocking, where I explained how to overclock your graphics card will also discuss how to stress test GPU to ensure stability.
How to make sure your overclock is stable
For stress testing your graphics card, you need the following tools.
Kombustor MSI
Stress testing GPU is really easy. Fire on MSI Kombustor.

This will invoke queue object on the screen, which in fact makes the highlights. Let’s run for 2 hours (only 10 minutes is enough, if you just started, finding the Max overclock by increasing core/shader 10 MHz at a time). But you should closely monitor the temperature, since this test will make unrealistic load on the GPU and as a result, the temperature will skyrocket. Increasing the speed of the fan of 80% or even more, it is recommended that before you run the Kombustor.
Monitor queue object car3efully for all artifacts. Nothing, except a queue object is an artifact. If your GPU is stable, everything will be fine; otherwise you may see graphical artifacts on the screen or your system may crash or stop responding. In this case only will need to hard reboot. This is an indication of too many overclock and will have to reduce several MHz (core/shader/memory).
I’m not, you can post a screenshot of graphic artifacts, because my system simply becomes unresponsive or throws a BSOD.
Things to keep in view before stress testing your GPU
I can’t stress this enough. You may need to find the maximum safe temperature of your GPU by doing Google search. After you get to know that, you must make sure that the core temperature does not exceed this. You can keep the temperature in check by increasing GPU speed by using the MSI Afterburner and by installing more fans in your computer lab. If possible you may receive another GPU cooler.
Make sure that you have a good power supply (Psu). Cheap of them is not recommended even for-overclocked system. Stress testing GPU really will be downloaded lots of power and your Psu must be able to provide the necessary power with little Pulse as soon as possible. Get a good Psu from Corsair, Seasonic, etc. Cooler Master is good, but be wary of the fact that the final line of PSUs are used for blasting under load, but I see many people still use them as they are cheaper.
If you live in an area of warm, turn on air conditioning. If the environment is under 23, you have the chance to press who still more MHz.
