@74Eric74 I ended up getting the H70, These chips sure are cool, on idle it never goes more than a few degrees over room temp. And stress testing it, it never goes over 35c om full load so im good to go with the overclock.

  2. 74Eric74 says:

@mrfuzzer1 You’ll be fine with an H50 ;) These chips don’t get as hot as the other i7′s from the 1156 and 1366 sockets.

sounds like Sonic the Hedgehog music

  4. Pandathrower says:

@Mirmidon87 Is it in idle? or is it being stressed?

  5. Intel1502 says:

@Mirmidon87 It runs to the speed you NEED. If you’re just browsing internet etc. your CPU will down-clock to save energy with no noticeable affect on performance. When you open your game, the CPU will ramp up to 3.3GHz, then your turbo mode o/c.

  6. j7x54 says:

@Mirmidon87 i think that the cpu under clocks itself when there is not much going on change your window power settings to the highest and then it run at the 3400 mhz speed

  7. mrfuzzer1 says:

Nice,im going to do this build but with 4,5ghz i think. Do you think a Corsair h70 will work fine for that or would you rather go with Noctuna Nh-D14? Those two are the once im thinking about

  8. AKIOSHIMA619 says:

why did he disabled the CPI C1E?? what it’s for? to stabilize the cpu when overclocked?

  9. 99chocolate99 says:

@Mirmidon87 that’s because of intel’s speedstep technology… when the cpu is idle the multiplier will go lower to save energy, but once you introduce a load the multiplier will go up go 34
you can disable this setting in your bios

  10. strik30fd00m says:

@Mirmidon87 Its because it automatically reduces the clock speed if the cpu is not under load. Try running the cpu at 100% load and then check CPU-Z

  11. vanillawillis says:

@Mirmidon87 its idleing at 1605 mhz. open up AISuitell and look at "monitor" then "cpu frequency" watch as you open up a program or web browser or something, it will jump up to approx 4300 mhz. if you play games it will go to 4300 mhz. its just the power saving mode. disable this in bios if you want.

  12. Mirmidon87 says:

can somebody tell me if there is something wrong with my core i5 2500k default core speed ??? I ran the CPU-Z software and it says that my default Core Speed is @ 1605.x Mhz, and the multiplier is x 16.0…..shouldnt this be around the 3400 Mhz with a 34.0 multiplier ??? I havent messed with overclocking btw or anything like that…

    Thumb up if u muted!!!

Run Flight Simulator X on that man if you too busy and fly high with all add on set on suppppppppeeerrr high setting and download a PMDG Boeing 747-400 with weather reader on high detail and Ultra high XXX high::)

  15. maqsad1 says:

I thought it was dangerous to take intel CPUs over 70C?

  16. REDxFROG says:

I still have to reach the 5ghz mark. But don’t want to go through bios and also not wanting to disable the power saving mechanism. Highest I’ve ever done has been 4,9Ghz but that was on another mainboard.
At least mine won’t be running at 70°C o_O

  17. nemtastic says:

@POPCORN454545 he set cpu voltage to 1.350 and the 1.7 was PLL. The chip voltage was 1.412v at 100% load.

Someone has got a hand picked chip or a engineering sample if power draw at 100% is under 1.4V. Almost all require 1.4+ volts for 100% load at 5GHZ.

The sweet spot seems to be 4.7ghz @ 1.345v and 1.368 draw at 100% load for 2500Ks.

  18. POPCORN454545 says:

you definatley coulda used a lower voltage…1.7 is high even for 5 ghz…mine at 4ghz and 1.45 volts…granted its an older chip but…eripjhdfg i dunno…really dont need 1.7…im thinking 1.55 or 1.6 woulda done it…try to eliminate as much heat as possible…longer life span

  19. Ryd3r22 says:

    @TheGlobalflight 4.7

  20. josephwu1994 says:

which air cooler do u use??

  21. TheGlobalflight says:

Is it stable with this much over a long time…. and what do you think is the best for stable long term use 4.5 or something like that?

  22. machielste1 says:

@nawaz2kx Yes , you only overclock the turbo mode , when u go ino a game , it goed to the overclocked settings

  23. ImperviousMason says:

@Darthkeyblader13 lol, if its only at 1.35 then keep goin man!

  24. Darthkeyblader13 says:

@ImperviousMason 1.35 is too high? i thought it was aight

  25. ImperviousMason says:

@Darthkeyblader13 You don’t want to over volt your cpu, even if it is stable at 5ghz it may take a ton of power to do so, shortening the lifespan of your chip. You should establish a voltage range imo
