i7 950 Overclocking : 1st Stage from 3.03Ghz to 3.5Ghz. Add ons used : PMDG MD11 Aerosoft Berlin Tegel REX 2.0 Fraps EZDoc Cam The .cfg File is tweaked, all autogen is set to the maximum fsx can display. Only the AI traffic is set to low. When not recording i get 35-40 fps.At normal scenery with normal settings the cpu puts out 120-150 fps. I cant believe it myself 
But it all melts away as soon as fraps runs, PM me if you have any questions.

really sad i don’t get to see those md-11 in zurich anymore…
Hi my specs are: i7 950 @3.06 ghz, 6gb DDR3 and a gtx 480 and i only get 30 fps on default airports should i be gettin this? How can i get the same fps as you (80-100) with those addons. Cheers.

@NowKZR More ram won’t change a thing, MSFS can only use so much.
Now, for comparison…Arma 2 is similar to MSFS, in the fact that CPU is more important than a graphics card. With Arma 2, more ram does make a difference because you can run what’s called a ‘ramdisk’ and move some textures or whatever files, from the install directory to the ramdisk and run it off that.
Unless you can find a way to do the same with flightsim, more ram won’t make a difference.
I’ve overclocked my I7 950 at 4.0 Ghz, but in mega airport paris with the texture set to 1 m, I only have less than 20 FPS, i also have a MSI Hawx talon GTX 460 OC 940MHz. is the graphic cards the reason ?

@dnhug no problem mate, thanks for your reply. i know that GPU doesnt really matter on FSX but it may be the problem (HD4870).. I’ll see with differents settings

@sjmunoz hm.. i dont know what to say now. I always place the cam, close fsx, close EZDoc, re-open FSX, and when the plane is loaded, re-open EZDoc, and you should be able to move the view with the mouse cursor..
If that doesnt work, i dont know what hint to give you man.. Sorry!

Benchmark : if i set a aerosoft 320 on a standart fsx airport, max AI traffic and autogen, i get around 80-100 fps. That ofcourse until fraps starts running, then it goes down to 40-50fps. Id check in the graphic card section in your case.. cheers man, sorry for the late reply man, dom
@1Filmproducer hey mike, i currently run two Zotac GTX480′s here, but (as you certainly know), only one gpu is used for the flightsim.The ATI5980 would propably have been a better choice (since its already a dual gpu card), but im happy with the preformance.

Hi ! do you know if upgrading my ram to 12Gb (i have 6 atm) will make a big difference ? ’cause i oc’d my i7 950Ghz to 4.2 and i cant get more than 30 fps

@dnhug Is This Man Swiss by any chance?….What about Ted Striker out of the Airplane movie he landed a B707 when he was used to flying the smaller fighter planes in some unnamed war and at the time Ted had a fear of flying when he landed that plane.

Enable mousezoom and youre ready, hope that works..
