I just bought an new PC with an i5 2500k, with the Noctua NH-D14 cooler.
Would it be possible to have it running at about 4GhZ constantly without having to worry about anything? (also without increasing voltages?)
Its all on a ASUS P8P67 Rev 3.0
Answers are appreciated =)
Can I do this with the stock cooler?
I have a similar MSI board and the same i5 2500K processor and was wondering will there be any long term stress on my CPU if I overclock it to 4.7 Ghz like in this video.
May I ask something, I’ve ordered the same board as you, MSI P67A-GD65, and the specs said it only could run 1333 MHz and 1066 MHz from stock memory? I know you can overclock and it support higher mhz, but I got 1333mhz ram for this. Was this a big mistake?
i forgot to mention that they run it at those volts and clock speed for f@h
so you can definitley run it with much higher voltages than your ~1.38
i am running mine at 5ghz at 1.39v …. it depends on your chip really… anyways if you go on forums and check what 24/7 volts people are running, no sign of degradation has been found with 1.5v and below.
A few people with phasers or chillers have been running them 24/7 at 1.52v with little to no degradation
@FacnyCatFighter Im using a 500w psu atm along with my gtx560 ti and i dont get high temperatures at all and the graphicscard seem to be running smoothly. Im thinking of upgrading my dualcore cpu to i5 760 as my motherboard model isn´t capable of running the 2500k.
@tehPlacebow 500w PSU? I’d get at least a 650w PSU to be safe.
then why turbo boost is enabled……it will only limit the ability of all cores to push it’s limits……..but i think that you have a better explanation for this….right?
Change the name to part 4 of i5 2500K
thats what u said in the cyberpower GTX 570 video
What really blew me away was the multi-tasking. I decided to give mine a run. 20 programs open, 2 Internet browsers with 20 tabs open in each, running 2 1080p videos, 3 audio players running music. Yet opening new windows, tabs and programs was just as fast as at the start! 44 degree core temp and only 35% CPU usage, 30% Memory usage(8 GB). Started playing GTA 4 with all that left running plus a virus scan. No worries switching back to windows and even running more new stuff. IT’S A MONSTER!!
Can i overclock to over 4,5 GHz with an low cooling system like Scythe Katana 3?
@ISUBANY11 no.. but its great for monitoring your rig
@fireoflight56 depends on motherboard but you have an unlocked cpu and plenty of power so should be able too
i just got a new computer and i got a thermaltake tr2 RX 750W. i have an i7 2600k with a GTX 570. will it be possible for me to overclock?
Do i have to download cpu z to oc it?
I’m new to this lol.
Many Thanks for this Overclocking Review! On my MSI P67A-G45 (B3) now i’m running 4500MHz with full stability in linx.
Hello there, nice video. I have a ASUS P8H67 M-Pro motherboard, and sadly I just realized by looking on the internet that I can not over clock my 2500k with this board, and that I should have bought a P67 instead… I was wondering if there is absolutely no way to over clock it maybe to 3.7 at least… or am I completely scr3w3d ???
Thanks
@NanosoftRussia I have that same setup. I’m running the x4 620 at 3.1 ghz @ 1.3v
Awesome video, what motherboard do you recommend using with 2500K and a Gtx 560 Ti along with 500w silver power psu.
what’s the setting called that decreases your multiplying to x16 when you’re not under heavy load? is that the turbo boost?
hey i like your videos! i also like you mouse pointer.. haha
@olambacheyakhshe1000 i wanted to show u tat i have an intel chipset running all those games…..
@PCWizKid Please, i need to answer my question, If i have the money to buy the Intel Core i7 2600k, what do you recommend me? buy the 2600k? or the 2500k? i’ll wait your answer, thanks
