Intel i5 2500K 4.7 GHz Overclock

Check out this *secret* site where it’ll show you a cool trick that actually TRIPLES your PC’s performance… Plus tons more!

The Ultimate CPU Overclocking Guide!
I made a ton of videos showing a bunch of other stuff about my hardware… but it was just too much to sort through. Consider this my official follow up video. Ive installed my Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B cooler as i was saying i would.

    I’d recommend you spend 20 more for the scythe mugen 2. The hyper212 is amazing for the price, but still lacks compared to the other 2. I think 4.5 is doable on a hyper 212 though

  2. clondan1 says:

    @Superloser89 how bout the Coolermaster hyper 212, its super cheap and CM usually makes good stuff(i own a HAF-912)

    @clondan1

    I’d recommend the noctua or the scythe mugen II B over the H50, high end air coolers still give better performance over an all in one water block.

  4. leezaal says:

    i replaced my corsair H50 water cooler with the noctua nh d14 cooler for my i5 2500k and can recommend it as long as it fits in your case and clears your ram ok.

  5. clondan1 says:

    @leezaal how would H50 compare to that cooler

  6. nemtastic says:

    @Superloser89 they just had a old version of CPUID that reports voltage at 1.2

    i spilled my self with drink when i saw the title..

  8. Superloser89 says:

    @liam666cob 7.7, 7.9 doesn’t seem too easy to achieve.

  9. liam666cob says:

    what is your windows experience index score at for cpu?

    @ImperviousMason

    I’ve seen 5ghz on 1.2, now THAT’S a golden chip if you ask me lol. After all the initial excitement, I’m seeing a lot more 5ghz OCs pop up. Pretty cool.

  11. ImperviousMason says:

    I got mine to 4.7 @ 1.375v

    I know someone who got a golden chip who has 4.9 @ 1.39v

  12. leezaal says:

    4.7ghz should be super stable with either the 2500k or the 2600k provided you have a good cpu cooler like say a noctua nh d14. a bios update could really help with overclocking too as some of the higher 1155 cpu overclocks i’ve seen have only been possible via a bios update

  13. xLycosax says:

    @Superloser89 Damn! I dont know how to overclock :( i wana overclock my i5 2500k so its 4ghz

  14. Superloser89 says:

    @xLycosax I’d set the multiplier to 40 and vcore to ~1.25. Stress test it with prime for about an hour.

  15. xLycosax says:

    @siang108 yeah guide me too superloser89. i will buy i5 2500k but i want to know what is good eneough uh….. cooler cpu so i can get 4ghz

  16. xLycosax says:

    Please tell me what would be nice overclocking cooler for i5 2500k 4x 3.30ghz… i wana get it to 4.0ghz im new to overclocking

  17. siang108 says:

    may i know how u overclock it ?recently i bought i7 2600k 3.4ghz , but i don’t know how to oc..my motherboard is intel DH67GD , can u guide me ?

  18. mikelee923 says:

    i guess i pushed mine to the max too at 4.7ghz . asus p8p67 pro – my volt was at 1.42 @ 4.7 ghz. was hoping there was a way to get it beyond that.. sigh .. thanks for the post , and i did prime 95 for 30 min seems fine

  19. Superloser89 says:

    @cdbob

    Yeah, these seem to be all over the place with OC. I wish I didn’t have to keep my voltage so high, but any less and I start to get unstable after about a day of stress.

    I’d say 4.6 on 1.24 is a pretty nice sweetspot though.

  20. cdbob says:

    I maxed my 2500k out at 4.81Ghz @1.34 volts, I ran benchmarks on it for about 2 hours with Intel Burn Test and Prime, and about 5 minutes after finishing them my system proved to be unstable. I lowered to the clockspeed to 4.6GHz @ 1.24 volts, and now it’s perfectly stable. These chips are real stonkers. Nice Oc by the way, voltages are a bit high; but 59 Degrees max is a great place to be.

  21. orisaban1 says:

    yes i know thanks !

  22. orisaban1 says:

    wow ! but i have a Question i do to my i3 540 OC and i past the 4.00GHZ but i went more ,i have too the mugan2 so i ask you did you know how much vcore and timing for 4.30GHZ ?

  23. Superloser89 says:

    my room temp is around 25c and my temps peaked after 3 hours of prime at 61 across all cores.

    Vcore is about 1.36, I happen to have gotten a chip that didn’t clock so well on low voltage =(

  24. orisaban1 says:

    what is the temps ? and v vcore ?
