im new to overclocking but can anyone tell me if you can over clock the intel i7 960?
did you try and check to see what oc you could’ve gotten with one core? disable ht, etc… boot into windows with one core and see how high you can get it.
could u please recomend a good mother boad for this cpu?

@NoxeN83 Don’t know if you have got help already, but the best place to go for help with overclocking are the overclockers UK (dot) net forums. There’s pretty much always some1 that knows a little bit more. Be specific with your issues though. The guys on there tend to be a bit tetchy when you leave out details.

Where i can find a guide to show how to TWEAK and OVERCLOCKING on x58 with cards in SLI
im running evga E762 and 990x and evga 580s in sli and corsair dominator GT 2000MHz and going be watercooling the.. cpu… mb… gpu
On the evga E-LEET Tuning Utility under Voltages tab.. is that ALL i should be tweaking while doing high overclocking? or there more Volts i should go for that be in bios?

@stalkerchernobyl i would go with the D14 ai idle at stock my 980x is sitting at 19c on the cores and load is 29c on the cores at 4.30ghz idle is 29c on the cores and load is 68c in prime95 after 8 hours of testing
@stalkerchernobyl then dont buy the 990. The 970 is the same CPU and about half the price. H70 is noisey but the D14 is the best cooler on the planet.
@stalkerchernobyl it will never be as as good as a dedicated card but its the best onboard mobo audio Ive heard in a long time.
could u give me a tip on a cooler for the cpu and good one ? i whas thinking of getting H70 but i wonder if the D14 is better? im not gonna clock my cpu …just play at is..
