Before we start overclocking the CPU we need to see where the CPU is in regards to its cooling and performance. Were going to run a few programs in Windows.

    @daxeflame All AMD and Intel processors that come in a retail box have a cooler in the box that has CPU compound applied and you don’t have apply more compound to the CPU. AMD and Intel CPU that are bought without a CPU or OEM style need to have a cooler bought separately that may of may not have compound applied to them.

    Heh, get a Prolimatech Megahalems cooler and see a 20 degree improvement on full load compared to the stock cooler. :D

    Dude just get a better CPU Cooler. Its worth it. I recommend a Scythe Mugen 2. Its very good even for overclocking and cheap.

    I been using realtemp for a while, but today decided to use prime95 for about 10 minutes. i have Intel Core 2 qaud CPU. after 10 minutes all 4 temperatures were at average of 55 degrees
