This week is an exciting one for me! In my recent blog on AMD.com I share, that I recently traveled from Sweden to Austin, Texas diving head-first in the world of AMD. People of AMD were very helpful and welcoming at the time of my visit today is no exception.
AMD “-big fan” Daniel Andersson visited the headquarters of AMD in Austin, Texas
This whole week I’ve been meeting AMD employees, I am only corresponded with online. Today I met two people in particular who have made my time here, pleasant.
Pat Moorhead, AMD corporate marketing associate at AMD sits in your area. So many monitors in one room!I met Pat Moorhead, corporate marketing associate at AMD. Pat of the role of AMD is to predict trends in the production of the computer. I’ve been following Pat on Twitter and read his blog for some, so meeting in life actually is very good. Its working place is filled with monitors in different sizes and it has many tablets sitting on your desk. It is very clear how much he loves gadgets of all kinds!
During my meeting with Pat, we discuss mobile devices, special chat on positive and negative results of tablets. He mentions that the fall of the tablets is that software is not fully used hardware efficiently. This is a challenge for software developers to continue learning and growing in this area. After today I’ve decided I don’t think I have a Tablet and would be much more satisfied with the notebook, powered by an APU for synthesis of AMD!
Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President and General Manager at the headquarters of the AMD’s AMDI also have the opportunity to meet Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of AMD. Rick is a busy guy, so I’m thankful he me fit in its schedule. Rick is curious about my passion for AMD and I entered my site, AMD Forum. Rick and I discussed the differences between PC users different countries and cultures. In Sweden, users often adopt new technologies more quickly than in the United States. One goal I have with AMD Forum is to promote AMD as a brand in my country of origin.
An interesting part of the information I learned from Rick is that it is often one of the last people to see test of AMD hardware components. Was originally thought that his position in AMD give first glimpse of new hardware. Rick also stated that he believed that have passed the former days when raw Benchmark performance is of key importance. AMD helps to lead the way for the future of computing through their fusion technology APU.
The best part is at the headquarters of AMD is meeting all within the team. Learn about different people in different areas is fascinating and each individual role of AMD is interesting and important. One major lesson I learned from my visit to AMD is that passionate people can create great things. I think people often forget that you can really enjoy the job if you are passionate about the work you do.
The team of AMD is treated me as one of their own and this visit at the headquarters of AMD is attempting to change of life. My journey only deepened my passion and excitement of AMD and the company as a whole. I really appreciate everyone who made my visit so enjoyable and I hope that I can visit again soon!
Thank you all for reading this post and I look forward to connecting with colleagues AMD fans on Twitter. In the United States has surpassed my expectations and I would love to return to visit other areas of the country in soon.
