Ok, so when a tried to use this software, my PLL was not on the list. I think my PLL is like VIAVT630P or something like that. So how do I overclock?

  2. Wwhackk says:

@OC2theextreme Thanks a lot for your recommendations; I just recently upgraded to a radeon 6850, and I found out that’s all I need as of now to play any game at high settings. Was about to blow 400 more dollars on a new mobo and case -.-

  3. OC2theextreme says:

@Wwhackk I think you should use SetFSB. A new Mobo like a P6T would be pushing $200+ and you would also have to upgrade the PSU, cooling, and possibly even case to accommodate it. Getting a good GPU and PSU for that money like a GTX460 and 700W would be better because the i7 920 is still extremely fast today.

  4. OC2theextreme says:

@rclawitw The mobo can only do the first run of i7s like the 920 and 940. 980X needs a different board and way more powerful power supply and cooling.

  5. rclawitw says:

Do you know if the mother board (and bios) can handle de 980X??

@arabeloco I have the dell xps 9000/435T. pll is ICS9LPRS113AKLF. I was only able to get it from 133 to max 137. ALWAYS hangs at 138. So looks like there is something in these boards that limit their potential. Tried it with 12 gig 1066 ram and 6 gig 1333 ram…same result. Not the psu because there is a hx750 corsair psu in mine. Don’t know what it might be exactly that’s holding the i7 920 beast back

how do i check my clock generator…i have a Dell i7 920-2.6ghz studio xps(not the MT) Thnx nice vid.

  8. BabieBertie says:

Are you using the stock PSU? That might be why it freezes up when you overclock.

  9. OC2theextreme says:

@rclawitw not really but i did manage to get someone’s HP with a Pentium E2160 to go from 1.8 to 2.83 so it really depends

  10. rclawitw says:

Have you managed to get higher overclocking?
