   I recently got my new pc from cyberpower and it came 20% oc to 3.6
   I started monitoring and found my s**t running super hot with burn test at 90c top and I just turned it off in fear of damage to cpu.

   I checked the bios and fools had it at 23 multi and 1.35 volts

   Following this video, I tried a few set-ups and got my cpu to 4ghz on a 20 multi with 1.25volts and now temps are good around 75c with burn test and very stable.

   i can overclock a AMD phantom IIX4 955 overclock from 3.2 to 4120GHz

   Try bumping up the v core a bit.. Post your Overclocked Bios settings so I can see where your at.. As always go to the Asus download section for your board type and make sure you have the latest Bois / chipset drivers installed.They are some odd timings for Ram Modules, I don’t think I’ve ever seen 6-9-7 on a set before.. That’s there listed cas??

   Hey bro I just put together a new build but I cannot seem to get my over clock where I want it. My mobo is an ASUS P6X58D-E and I have an I7-950 of course, I am trying to get a stable 4.2Ghz or higher (I have a corsair hydro cooling it). I’m using this system for mainly gaming and I do have X2 gtx 580′s in SLI and also my Mushkin ram runs 1600mhz 6-9-7-24 @1.65 out of the box.

   I am going to overclock my i7 950 up to at least 3.7 ghz hopefully i break 4 but i have no experience whatsoever with overclocking. Can you give me some tips? I am going to get a noctua nh d14, asus sabertooth x58, and i already have hyperx 1600mhz

    @SunnyShawFilms You always need a heatsink to pull heat from the processor… And when you overclock you need that heat gone even faster.. So, yeah.

    Ram i have is the 6 GB Corsair 2000 Mhz XMP 99924 1.65V.
    I will try the 21 Multiplier with 201BCLK.
    Geez man, this HT is killing the temps here. I may have to disable it since i am ruuning on AIR.

    @CS3IS Try this Mate , lower your DRAM to 1600 anything over that needs quite a bit more voltage. What type and how much Ram do you have? You can get a great Overclock 4.20 with 1600 ram. just use a 21 on the Ratio , 201 BCLK , 1.30 VCORE , 1.32 VDIMM , 1.66 DRAM Bus and lower the voltages on CPU AND QPI DRAM LITTLE by little till it fails. Mine is 4.20 now 21 on Ratio 1.295 CPU Voltage 1.310 QPI dram , 1.88 PLL. All chips will be different but not by much so give it a try. Enjoy

    Nice cooling set up mate, and nice OC. I am trying to OC my 950 chip upto 4 Ghz on Asus Sabertooth, but most stable i can get is at 3.88 Ghzs with 1.2625 Vcore and 1.3 on Vtt with 1704Mhz Dram Frequency running on XMP profile. I have disabled H/T to loose some 10*c on the CORE temps. I am on AIr cooling with Noctua NHP-12 on Fractal Design XL.
