    Unlocked multiplier is overrated. I overclocked my Phenom II 1055T to 4.2 GHz easy enough with a locked multiplier.

    The 2nd Gen Core CPUs have EFI BIOS with mouse enabled menus, and 0:50 shows normal BIOS of old gen motherboards, so Grandma’s system is not the new Intel Sandy Bridge

    @jchambers2586 Yes but my grandma also like to have Sandybridge. Also since she plays games more than use Multi-threaded apps i think she should pick the intel. But thats only my grandma.

    dislike. intel really hit the enthusiants with a low blow with sandy bridge. sure the performance is great, but they really should have placed the clock generator on the mobo where it belongs, so people can truly overclock every aspect of the cpu. i really hope intel doesnt do this with socket 2011

    This ad is fundamentally dishonest… overclocking is not about boosting your gaming performance. Both those chips they showed could easily handle any game available for the next 5 yrs, on stock settings. (combined with a good gpu) Overclocking, on the other hand, is about…. overclocking. It’s fun, educational, gratifying, inspirational, and it used to be a way for creative college kids with small bank accounts and large IQ’s to beat the system and squeeze performance out of cheap hardware.
